Our Story
Charpentier du Monde was born from a passion for woodworking and excellence in craftsmanship. Founded by Vincent Glathoud, our company is built on strong values of quality, authenticity, and traditional know-how.
Over the years, we have developed recognized expertise in three complementary areas: joinery, cabinetmaking, and traditional carpentry. Our unique journey, blending local traditions with international experiences, enriches our approach to the craft.
Key milestones in our journey
Training with the Compagnons du Devoir
Vincent Glathoud trained at the prestigious CFA des Compagnons du Devoir in the Rhône-Alpes region, acquiring solid foundations for his craft and embracing the values of artisanal excellence.
International experience in South Africa
Creation of the 'Woodcraft' company in South Africa and collaboration with Andrew Dominic, renowned Cape Town designer. This period of learning and exchange significantly enriched our approach to design and woodworking techniques.
Founding of Charpentier du Monde
Upon returning to France, Vincent founded Charpentier du Monde in Bourg-Saint-Maurice, leveraging his international expertise to serve unique projects in Haute-Tarentaise and Savoie.
The Artisan
Vincent Glathoud has developed his expertise through a rich and varied career path. After rigorous training with the Compagnons du Devoir, he enriched his practice through professional experiences in France and internationally.
His passion for fine wood species and traditional techniques, coupled with a constant curiosity for innovation, allows him to create pieces that combine authenticity and modernity. Each project is approached with the same demand for quality and attention to detail.
